Wake up in a teepee, eat breakfast with your friends, visit with an Elder, play games in a field, sing songs around the campfire, and much more!
Jumping Mouse is a wonderful opportunity for the young ones to experience the outdoors in a cultural and safe environment. Days are filled with exciting and engaging games, ecological learning, and friendship, all within an Aboriginal-based cultural setting. Surrounded by vast mountains, open skies, and colorful plants participants will develop new bonds between themselves, others, and Mother Nature as they are embraced within the circle of Rediscovery. A perfect experience for those just learning about the outdoors!

Build a shelter, start a fire in no time with one match, learn how to survive in the Canadian outdoors, and drum your songs beside your new brothers and sisters!
Set against the backdrop of beautiful mountains and swaying pines participants will learn the valuable skills of outdoor survival and teamwork. As they engage with Mother Nature in her natural state participants will also utilize cultural teachings to develop and strengthen their inner identity as strong and purposeful youth. A large component of this experience is the acquisition and development of wilderness skills and leadership development. Participants should be prepared to be challenged in these areas. Overnight out-trips, leadership challenges, and cultural immersion ensure that participants will always be engaged and active!

Eagle Camp

This
exciting camp is for all youth aged 12 to 15 yrs old and acquaints
them with Ghost River activities in a fun and educational way. As
with all our youth camps, everyone sleeps in tipis that are nestled
deep in mountains and lit up only by the night stars. We carefully
guide the youth on exciting hikes through the spectacular mountains
and forests surrounding our base camp. Weather permitting we plan
for an overnight adventure away from base camp. |

Grizzly ~15-24 yrs ~ 8 spots available
Dates: July 1-9th

Trek into wondrous valleys, set-up camp in the forest, explore where few have been before, build new and lasting friendships!
This all-male experience is a chance for young men to further develop their personal skills and leadership qualities. Participants will journey through the landscape of the Ghost River Wilderness with backpacks, outdoor skills and the teachings of Aboriginal culture. The journey is also within them as they carve a new path for themselves that will forever impact their lives. The passage from boyhood to manhood is honored as participants explore what it means to be a man and gain useful live lessons for this passage.

New
Moon addresses young women who are on the edge of adulthood and
seeking to discover their gifts, potentials and accept the responsibilities
of their coming of age. The program was developed for young women
aged twelve & over and is based on initiation rituals and ceremonies
associated with “Rites of Passage”. It is an incredible
journey involving an all female experience of self discovery and
self-confidence.

Earth Skills Camp

This
is the camp for youth aged twelve to fifteen. For eight exciting
days we will explore, discover and utilize the gifts the land has
provided for us to meet our needs. This will be done in a sacred
way according to the traditions passed on by our Elders. Close supervision
and support will accompany this unique learning adventure.

Wolf Dreamers –
An Adult camp ~ 12 spots

Wolf Dreamers is an adult program that offers a chance to look deeply at your life and purpose and to re-experience your connection to the Earth and all of Life. Based on ancient rites of passage found in the original teachings of all cultures, the camp draws on traditional aboriginal teachings with today’s realities and challenges.

Rediscovery Wilderness Skills Training
Ages: 18 and up
18 to 20 spots available
Dates: June 28-July 8

The wilderness skills training session is designed to teach and practice the leadership skills needed to work in culturally based outdoor programs. Designed to complement the Rediscovery International Foundation Training, the course is of particular relevance to those working in Aboriginal youth programs, rites of passage work and at-risk youth programs. The course is intensive, often fun and sometimes life changing. Instructors with many years practical experience in the field teach it. Based entirely in a wilderness setting, students will experience a living Rediscovery camp!
